The Geth client's recent code simplification, achieved by ceasing support for Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism networks in favor of the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) method, underscores Ethereum's transition towards more sustainable and scalable transaction validation methodologies.

Post-Dencun update, Ethereum witnessed a reduction in the node data storage window to 18 days, slashing the data handling capacity to a mere 50 gigabytes. This strategic downsizing necessitates a cleanup of pre-compilation contracts—specialized contracts devised for complex computations beyond the Ethereum Virtual Machine's (EVM) capabilities.
