Pavel Durov: Unfortunately, a US court stopped TON from happening

Pavel Durov informed subscribers of his Telegram channel about the completion of work on the TON project. 

The team's engineers have been developing the revolutionary platform for two and a half years. The developers created a decentralized system in the spirit of Bitcoin and Ethereum with greater speed and scalability. 

"We were very proud with the result – the technology we created allowed for an open, free, decentralized exchange of value and ideas. When integrated with Telegram, TON had the potential to revolutionize how people store and transfer funds and information."

said Pavel 

Unfortunately, TON is blocked by a US court.

In the article, Pavel gives an example for those who are not quite familiar with the crypto world.

"Imagine that several people put their money together to build a gold mine – and to later split the gold that comes out of it. Then a judge comes and tells the mine builders: "Many people invested in the gold mine because they were looking for profits. And they didn't want that gold for themselves, they wanted to sell it to other people. Because of this, you are not allowed to give them the gold."

Simply put, this is exactly what happened with TON (mining), investors, and GRAM (gold) tokens.

The Judge prohibits the use of tokens that are essentially similar to modern Bitcoin.
