Google Play begins to block cryptocurrency news apps

The Google Play mobile application store once again cleaned up applications related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain. This time, news apps were banned.

In particular, the Cointelegraph and CoinDesk applications were removed from the store.

Cointelegraph reports that the service administration did not contact them to notify of possible violations. The portal functioned as usual and does not understand the reasons for what happened.

At the end of December, a wallet for ERC-20 MetaMask tokens was similarly removed from Google Play. Then the service said that according to its policy, applications for mining on mobile phones are prohibited, but MetaMask does not support such a function. Later, the service returned the wallet without accompanying this event with any comments.

Last week, a Google-owned YouTube video service sanctioned a number of cryptocurrency channels. This is also not the first such case, similar measures were taken at the end of last year.
